Goodenuf2 Announces Sponsorship with Fylkir Basketball (Iceland Division 1)
Goodenuf2 is proud to announce its official sponsorship of Fylkir Basketball, a professional club competing in Iceland’s Division 1 — the country’s second-highest professional basketball league. As part of this partnership, the Goodenuf2 logo will appear on the shorts of both the home and away kits for the upcoming season.
Founded in 1967, Fylkir is a multi-sport club with a strong community foundation. The organization includes football, handball, volleyball, karate, gymnastics, computer gaming, basketball, parkour, and senior programming. Many sports feature youth sections, while football, volleyball, karate, gaming, and basketball also operate adult competitive teams.
The basketball program has a resilient and evolving history. Originally established more than 30 years ago, the program expanded significantly before transitioning into a joint structure known as Fylkir/Fjölnir, which was eventually absorbed by Fjölnir. Five years ago, basketball was reintroduced at Fylkir as an after-school initiative. Three years ago, leadership unified the senior men’s program under the official basketball umbrella rather than operating independently.
The results have been immediate:
• Year 1: Won the Second Division
• Year 2: Retained place in Division 1
• Continued growth across youth and senior levels
Goodenuf2 would also like to recognize David Patchell, whose leadership and communication helped establish this relationship. David provided key background on the club’s structure, history, and current direction, and has played an important role in connecting Fylkir Basketball with Goodenuf2. This partnership reflects a shared vision of building competitive programs while strengthening development pathways for players.
Beyond sponsorship, this partnership is designed to create direct athlete pathways between the United States and Iceland. Goodenuf2 aims to assist players, coaches, and organizations with:
• Transitioning from the U.S. to Iceland and Iceland to the U.S.
• Professional consulting and career planning
• Pro training opportunities and development camps
• Exposure through international showcases
• Connections to academies, teams, organizations, and facilities
• League placement and professional opportunities
• Long-term development partnerships
This collaboration aligns with Goodenuf2’s mission to support high-character organizations, expand international opportunities, and build sustainable professional pathways for athletes. Goodenuf2 looks forward to supporting Fylkir Basketball throughout the season and growing a long-term bridge between Iceland and the United States.
